Shallow Depth of Field
Well, this is pretty straight forward. I took a couple of the pictures but end up choosing this as i think it has more purpose than the other photos. Even though all of them shows a shallow depth of field but the other photographs do not have a subject of interest nor were the focused part meaningful. I guess that when i am taking these photographs, i only have the technical aspect in mind, that is to take shallow depth of field and i did not really pay attention to the composition and meaning of the photograph.

Deep Depth of Field
When i think of deep depth of field, the first thing that comes to mind is same composition, same subject and same arrangement as the one i took for shallow depth of field, but the only difference being me pushing the F value up. Now that i have given more thoughts to it, that is a lazy way of completing the assignment. What i should aim to portray is giving the viewers a sense of distance, a sense of Cartesian 3D space on a 2D space that is the photograph. It is for that reasons that i choose these 2 photographs for the representation for Deep Depth of Field.

I included a second picture for deep depth of field as i really like this picture even though it has a 50-50 split between the trees and the pathway. I am surprised that there is even such a place at suntec city and to my delight, i am able to capture these.

Motion Blur
Motion blur. Hmm, trying to take one without a tripod is rather challenging. As i tried to take a motion blur picture, i realized that there are two slightly different way to take one. One is with a tripod with shutter speed of more than 2 seconds and take either traffics or flowing water. These pictures will usually turn out very well. If there is no tripod at hand, i can also enlist the help of my friends. No, not to act as the tripod of course, but to do the following, run the heck around. I can safetly take a motion blur picture with relatively faster shuttle speed.

Stop Motion
I must really thank my friends, they are really very willing to 'model' for me. I guess this picture will appear rather dark to most people, it is suppose to look quite underexposed but then again, my monitor is not calibrated properly and images usually appear brighter than on normal computer screens. I suppose this can be considered a stop motion photo. I could have use a faster shutter speed but the lighting there is really dark and i dont really like to use the build in flash as they give a rather harsh lighting in more enclosed space. I suppose i could push the ISO up to 1600 or even 3200 but i dont really like to use high ISO on my photos. And i realized that i like to take low key pictures and usually like low key pictures as well.

F/7.1 Shuttle Speed =1/125 ISO800

Really bad composition and not aesthetically pleasing at all. However i included them here as i feel they also show the concept of stop motion photographs quite well. Besides i really like how the water droplets looked so i thought i would just share them. Both of them are taken with the built in flash.
